How has your natural hair journey affected your self-perception? What does society seem to say about your hair? What have you learned about yourself during this time? What words of encouragement or wisdom can you share?

Ultimately, the most inspirational and refined stories will be eligible for publication in My Natural Hair Journey: The Journal. Entries should not exceed 400 words and should be free of grammatical errors. Appropriate entries include hair "aha" moments (as well as commentary from the men), in the form of a quote, anecdotal stories, words of wisdom, and inspirations. Additionally, we accept poems, song lyrics, and graphic design/artwork (send as a .pdf or .jpg to pics@mynaturalhairjourney.com with ART in the subject line). You may submit more than once. Submissions accepted until September 30, 2011. Selected stories in the running for final publication in the journal are automatic candidates for prizes and giveaways!
